WHAT DRIVES US

Counter Culture Club is creating spaces to ensure our community gate-keepers of our own love, joy and health. We exist as a direct response to violent systems of gentrification which further threaten health equity for Black & Brown Queer people, as it systemically displaces us from the historic refuge of inner cities.

HEALTH

Our activities work to destigmatize the healthful demands of Black Queer people, including sexual health resources, drug-safety tools, and practical physical fitness.

Our primary goal in creating these members-only clubs is create a resource center, wherein all our health needs can be solve and beat the inequities that currently exists.

Cardio-vascular disease, anxiety, HIV/Aids, drug addiction and overdose are some of the disparities we experience and seek to solve for in our resource center of compassionate specialists, scientists and physicians.

WELLNESS

We are grounded in the mental and emotional wellbeing of our beloved community. Our activities present alternatives to nightlife, substance-use and sex for Black & Brown Queer people, who seek those alternatives as outlets from an otherwise harsh and unforgiving reality of social-political violence.

Wellness looks like creating opportunities for our members to dream beyond immediate gratification and into a stable, substance and sustainable future that includes the balance of self-awareness, self-esteem, along with one’s career and financial security.

Community

Understanding the need for connection, intimacy, friendship and family, all of our activations are about bringing Black & Brown Queer people together in meaningful ways. Born human, we are all social creatures, who rely on our networks for support and survival.

Commemorating the old saying: “It takes a village to raise a child.” We use our events, real-estate and fundraising to intentionally form safe and supportive networks for our community’s longterm wellbeing.
